Know How does an iPod Perform

IPods are sleek portable devices which play music files for you. They work on batteries which can be recharged. You cannot remove the battery from the device. But you can recharge it by connecting it to your computer.

Battery and click wheel
The iPod also has a click wheel. It is touch sensitive which has four buttons. They are play and pause button and other two are forward and back button and the menu button. The click wheel works on the concept of captive sensing. When you place or gently slide your figure on the click wheel the conductive capacity of your skin generates the impulse which results in the function that you select.

Battery cannot be removed but can be recharged. The small size of the battery makes it portable and handy. This battery has a life of about 300 to 500 recharge cycles. Once this cycle complete you have to send your iPod to the company to get it replaced with a new one.

iTunes
The iPod comes with iTunes which is software. You use this software to organize, download and play the music files on your iPod. You can use this software to purchase music online and constantly upgrade your music file with latest songs. You can also use it to purchase videos, podcasts and your favorite music videos.

To download all such songs you just have to connect the USB port to your iPod and connect it to your computer. All the songs that you select will be added to iTunes. This music is saved in the form of binary strings commonly called as the digital format.

Long hours of MP3 are compressed. Compression Decompression Algorithm commonly called as codec is used to compress the MP3 so that you get long hours of music entertainment. These compressed MP3s are decoded by a small digital audio chip.

The menu and the song currently played are displayed on the LCD screen. In the iPods with the video feature the video clips are displayed in the LCD screen.
The songs are stored in the flash memory or miniature hard drives capable of storing about 80GB of songs.

How to recharge your iPod battery?
To charge your iPod battery you need the six pin fire wire cable or USB cable and connect it to your computer. If you don't have a computer then you can charge it on the electrical outlet. You can also charge it on dock if you have a dock connector.

This is how your small sleek iPod works. That's all folks.
