Basics of Dual Core Process Computer

Computers are in the market since years. Continuous improvement in the computer technology is taking place so that they can be improved to handle multiple tasks at the same time and perform them at high speed.

The latest entrant in the computer technology is the dual core processor. If someone tells you that his computer has a dual core technology then that means that his computer has central processing unit which has independent cores for two processors.

Such computers have two processors which are integrated to the single silicon chip. Such computers perform multitasking and thus are beneficial for large organizations. The multitasking does not affect the speed at which the data is processed.

The computer programs are controlled by the random access memory. These programs are run by the processor. When a single processor runs several programs then it has to concentrate on them which ultimately affect the sped and make the computer slow. While dual core processors manage the multithreading and multitasking easily.

Such processors allow for the multithreading. Thus such computers can efficiently handle multitasking and run large programs which consume large memory space. The single core processor runs at a speed of 4 GHZ.

Besides this if you compare the computer with dual core technology of speed 1.5 GHZ and computer with single core of 3GHZ then you will find that the dual core computer is faster than the single core computer of higher speed. Also the computer with 1.5 GHZ dual core is cheaper than the computer with 3GHZ single core.

The single core processor will come to a halt and won't work if the processor gets any fault but a dual core processor will continue to work even if one of its processor develops a fault.

With dual core processors you can perform multitasking and compress the media files. Such processors can easily run two long programs on two threads on two processors. The speed is thus not affected. Thus with a dual core processor you can easily write the files on DVD and compress or record videos.

The most well known brand of dual core processor is Pentium. The most recent entry in the dual core field is E2140 and E2160 from Intel under the brand Pentium. The Yonah processors are used in mobiles these are thirty two bit processors. Allandale processors are sixty four bit processors which are for the desktops.

The computers with dual core processors are considered highly efficient in handling multiple tasks, giving quick and superior programming at high speed.
